The Contra Costa County Fire Explorer Post was founded in 2011 by Captain Ben Sanders. The program is designed to provide young men and woman the opportunity to learn about a career in the fire service. While participating in the Explorer Program you will have the opportunity to work side by side with career firefighters and assist on emergency and non-emergency incidents. You will also participate in monthly training and education drills at local fire stations. When the program was initially established 10 Explorers were selected to participate, since that time the program has grown and now has 25 Explorers.
If you are interested in becoming an Explorer and you are between the ages of 16-21 years old please like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram for the latest updates on our program recruitment.
We often announce our recruitment in December and add new Explorers in January based on our available vacancies.
